Henry Ian Cusick was gorgeous as usual as an unexpectedly sexy Vegas magician on 'CSI' last night. He reminded me of David Tennant in 2011's 'Fright Night.' [Which I've still yet to see as Netflix-for-streaming has never heard of it.]

A Brit a Day [#1027]
Oops, I was so busy being excited about Henry Ian Cusick being on CSI last night that I forgot to check on Matt Smith.
Slow down there, Matt, we don't drink our pints with a straw here.

Tom Hiddleston as Prince Hal. This piece is positively inspirational. I,m really sorry, I don't know who the artist is.

A Brit a Day [#1024]
This is for Sunday.
Alan Rickman is the beginning and the end of sex. [I don't know what that means. It sounded better when I thought it up.]

I have absolute confidence in any project Daniel Craig chooses to do. Except maybe 'Cowboys and Aliens.'

A Brit a Day [#1021]
This is one of those shots where I have to point out that certain actors make acting look effortless: Henry Ian Cusick looks so natural here, I don't know if he's off camera or on.

A Brit a Day [#1019]
There is a certain symmetry between these two pieces of fan art--first, Tom Hiddleston sketched as Henry V, and last, an iconic image from 'Pirates of the Caribbean' reimagined in Photoshop [done with King Harry's face, methinks].
Artworks are not mine.

A Brit a Day [#1018]
I was so excited to begin getting BBC America earlier this year, but one show I have not checked out is Dominic Monaghan's 'Wild Things'. Too many 'ginormous' creepy multi-legged things among the wild things for my liking. Here Dom is at a ginormous 'TV Guide' photo shoot for 'Lost.' I think Emilie perhaps had a bug in her eye.

A Brit a Day [#1017]
I tried to watch this horror movie from 1961 tonight called 'Curse of the Werewolf' because Oliver Reed was in it. But his character wasn't even born until almost halfway through. I'll take Oliver Reed in an artsy Ken Russell film [like 'The Devils' with Vanessa Redgrave] over a werewolf movie anytime.

This man's eyes are just kinda magical, aren't they? [see above] And I'm revisiting the image below as Tumblr's Monochromanic has enlightened and enhanced it with editing skill and conversion to black-and-white.

V-day is a little melancholy here at mine with the impending passing of a beloved pet. Sigh.
Here's Desmond, having survived Ben Linus' attack on his family, in season 5 of 'Lost.'

I had Idris, the soul of the Tardis, in my very own bathroom during Comic Con 2011. Good luck to all you first timers trying to get CCI 2013 passes this weekend.

The following comment might seem to objectify Benedict Cumberbatch: I'm not sure I like him outside of 'Sherlock.' To tell you the truth, I haven't seen him in anything outside of 'Sherlock.' The Ben-as-Sherlock combination is so perfect, I don't want anything to mess with it. I will definitely see him in the next 'Star Trek' movie, so that may help to break the ice.

I don't know if it's possible to pick one favorite picture or gif of the birthday boy. Happy 32nd birthday to Tom Hiddleston.

A Brit a Day [#1008]
Tom-Hiddleston-as-Freddie-Page suits McBain's description of lead detective Steve Carella to a T. But "Cop Hater" isn't all sticks and stones and blood-sticky sidewalks--Carella's proposal to his girlfriend is the sweetest I've ever read. I could, of course, hear it in Tom Hiddleston's voice as I read it.

Hey, for those of us who aren't Rembrandt, I'd like to point out that sometimes great fan art is a really nice edit of an existing photograph. [Found on Tumblr--Not my photo and not my edit.]

It's a bit gray outside and I could use some warmth. Sweet Thorki family fan art feels like it's in order today. See the text in the art for the Tumblr-name of the contributor and the link to the cool blog that was referenced: Ask the Odd Family from Asgard.

I'm 99.99% certain this photo of Alan Rickman is from a movie he made with Emma Thompson in 1998 called 'Judas Kiss.' In it, he plays a detective from New Orleans [yes, with a southern accent] and Ms. T's character is with the FBI.

A Brit a Day [#1001]
In case you've been under a rock and missed it, Tom Hiddleston has been blogging his entire trip to Guinea to see the work that UNICEF, his favorite charity, is doing to increase sanitation, education and children's overall health. In the field diary that he has published online, he has shown himself over and over to be the man of intelligence and compassion that we all gave him credit for being. What a sweetheart. And don't think for a minute that he hasn't raised awareness [and donations] with his words and deeds--I've seen several kids on Tumblr talking about how his inspiration has nudged them into a life of volunteering and service. Let's hope they follow through. Enjoy Tom's UNICEF blog here.
