A Brit a Day [#1243]
These are the final 2 in the series of 'Hollow Crown' fan art offerings that have so amazed me recently. Top is Henry V by medusa dollmaker on deviantart. Lower is Henry V by namecchan on deviantart.

Check this out for fan art, and read about it here:

Seriously, read about it--it may not be what you think it is!

A Brit a Day [#1200]
Today is ABAD's 1200th post, and more importantly, my elder child's first day of college. A couple of years ago, she cosplayed as Idris, the 'Doctor's Wife', for Comic-con--she was the best Idris anyone had ever seen. To commemorate, here's some Doctor Who 50th anniversary art from this year's Comic-con program.

A Brit a Day [#1187]
This is such a stretch for a connection to Britain, I can hardly believe I'm writing about it, but it's just the best thing.....This is a rendering done during the 18-month planning process that took place before the Andy Warhol Bridge in Pittsburgh became the site a very large yarn bombing on Monday. Fan art? Heck yeah, for fans of bridges, community spirit, knitting, public art.....and I love this simple, expressive rendering. No wonder the knitters were able to sell the city on the idea. British? I don't know, I imagine Andy Warhol spent at least one night in London at some point.....
Read more and see more "coverage" [yes, I said it] of the event here: http://news.yahoo.com/knitters-cover-pittsburghs-warhol-bridge-yarn-151647095.html

A Brit a Day [#1180]
I love this artist I just found on the Japanese artists' site pixiv, Shimizu. I love everything about their style right down to the patina on the sketchbook. You'll love it too, especially if you are a fan of Top Gear, Doctor Who, Sherlock...I saw at least one great sketch of Tom Hiddleston as well. Check it out--Shimizu's work can be found here--

I'm not sure how far you can get without creating an account. I did, and it was worth it.

A Brit a Day [#1166]
A rerun of one of my favorite finds on Tumblr. I love how the artist acknowledges how perfect that scene in 'The Avengers' is.

Pianos falling out of the sky. Such is the life of a couple of oil guzzling Morris Marinas on 'Top Gear,' commemorated in fan art by Lazardo on DeviantArt.

I met the incredible Alicexz at Anime Expo last week! I think this may be my favorite thing that she's ever done, and it just happens to be of Matt Smith.
I bought a print of this beauty below directly from her, thereby circumnavigating the BBC who've licensed it! Let's hear it for negating the middle man!

James May fan art I found on Tumblr. That first one, the little sculpture? I wish I knew more about it. It's fascinating.

I got this from someone's Tumblr [Dollychops.tumblr?], and it is a fabulous re-imagining of Lady Gaga as a Disney princess.
When I was really young, Disney soundtrack compilations on vinyl LPs were available in some gas stations as premiums if you filled up your tank. I think it was Gulf? Man, I wish I still had those, but after years of play on the portable record player, they would probably be unbearable.

A Brit a Day [#1128]
[Art from Tumblr. I'd love to credit the artist if I knew who they were.]
Today's post is for that niche fan who loves James May's 'Man Lab,' and furthermore, loves the almost fatherly interaction that James has with twentysomething Rory Barker.
At normal speed, the clip from the whelk stall experience [below] is endearing, but BeastlyBones of Youtube [whom I found on Tumblr as the lovely Beth: http://themagiciansward.tumblr.com/me] has turned it into something downright adorable. She writes, "I was trimming for some GIFS and stumbled upon the speed options."
