A Brit a Day [#756]
Laphroaig distillery has this program called 'Friends of Laphroaig' whereby purchasers of their products can become holders of tiny [square foot] plots of land on the distillery property on Islay, Scotland. They rent the property back from each 'Friend' for the price of one dram per year--but you have to show up in person to collect.
Anyway, I am one of these landowners [hence, today's brit is an honorary one--me], and Laphroaig has recently made it possible to view the location of one's plot on Google earth. I captured a birds-eye view of mine and posted it above. The bay at Port Ellen is on the left of the picture.

A Brit a Day [#752]
Tennant may have a kitten up around his head, but Matt Smith has the loveliest forelock in all the kingdom. Thank you tumblr people for all your fine pics that I love.

A Brit a Day [#750]
David Tennant carousing with a kitten in the same manner that I carouse with my pet rat. But I do not put a bow on her.

Fanpop actually has a page called 'RIP Severus Snape.' I found a lot of behind-the-scenes pictures there that I had never seen. It was hard to choose just one for today, but I'm always good with laughing Snape.

A Brit a Day [#748]
A friend gave me all the soundtracks from the Harry Potter movies on CD for my birthday. I've been listening to them in the car, and most recently finished 'The Goblet of Fire.'
Oh, Robert Pattinson, why did you have to die as Cedric Diggory and come back to life as a vampire?

...and in the same vein, today's guest brit is Australian [still a brit in my way of thinking] John Noble. As scientist Walter Bishop on 'Fringe', John does an incredible job of looking far more wizened than his actual 63 years. I'd love to see Mr. Rickman [who is 66] in such a role some day!

Episode 2 of 'Scandal' is on tonight! In the weirdest PR move I've seen in a long time, ABC put #2 up for viewing on its website the night after the premiere. They must have heard the consensus of the critics who thought the show doesn't really take off until the second episode. Whew! Let's put your best foot forward, people!

A Brit a Day [#737]
November 2005 was a big month for me--it was the first time I traveled away from home after a nearly fatal accident earlier that year. As for reading material on that trip, I only had eyes for Harry Potter, I remember, and Dan certainly deserved to grace the cover.

This is a nice big picture of David Tennant if you open it in another window. Clearly David survived an encounter with a moth but his jumper did not.

A Brit a Day [#734]
A favorite moment from Thursday night's premiere of 'Scandal'--
[allow me to paraphrase]
She: "You slept with me and then you didn't call me."
He: "I'm getting married."
News flash, mister[s]--that doesn't really explain anything.

Matt Smith in that sweater we have so come to love. Is it wool? Cotton? A synthetic blend? Only Matt knows for sure.

Does anyone know what happened when Daniel Radcliffe's movie 'The Woman in Black' opened? Was it well received?

A Brit a Day [#728]
Me and the family watched 'Frankenstein Meets the Werewolf' on TV tonight, and I have to ask, what kind of grave robber but an idiot opens the casket of a werewolf on the night of the full moon?
I love Snape protecting the kids from Lupin in HP3. Nothing sexier than a man standing up to things that go bump in the night.
